„Om Namo Narayanaya“ is called Ashtakshara Mantra, eight syllable mantra, Ashta – eight, Akshara – syllables, Ashtakshara Mantra of Vishnu. Narayana is Vishnu, comes from Nara – human being, Narayana is the one who dwells in all human beings, in all creatures and is the one who works through all creatures. „Om Namo Narayanaya“ is also a peace mantra.
